When we started on this journey together, we were DIYers who had completed a lot of work to our own houses. However, we were not sure this would translate over to other people having the same level of confidence we had in ourselves, and actually trust us with their spaces.
We put the work out on social media and were quickly put at ease when friends of ours (who conveniently are also neighbors) handed us out first project. A couple of years ago we built cabinets in our dining room, and they wanted us to duplicate those same cabinets in their living room.
Of course, we immediately said yes and got to talking paint, fabrics, countertops and wood stains! Kristi’s design skills went into overdrive and some mood boards may have been created 🙂
We spent the next couple of weeks invading our friend living space and Santiago enjoyed some daily homemade meals courtesy of Dennis’ cooking while Kristi and Gloria discussed the nuances of various colors of black.
We ended up very proud of the cabinets we created and the time we got to spend with good friends who trusted us with their home and their project.
